my day-to-day thoughts |

it’s so hard to keep up with a blog!
today’s weather was so beautiful. it was nice to shed the heavy jacket and uggs for some flipflops and a tee. it’s funny how weather can affect moods. i should have done a research paper on this instead of motivation/satisfaction. everything just feels better. as i did the dishes, drove to the mall, worked out…couldn’t help it but to smile :)
i’ve been soooo incredibly homesick. i miss my parents and even the little brother. it hurts so much. it’s such a struggle. sighhh why can’t we have teleportation? i can’t believe john’s turning 21 in a few weeks! he’s growing up so fast!
i feel like God is taking us in so many different directions for His plan that sometimes, I get so confused. i wish i had more encouragement, like my prayer warrior momma. i pray for more strength that i don’t give up and continue to have faith in the Lord that He will always provide.
now that i have a MIL and SIL, i need to be more thoughtful and treat them as if they were my own family. it’s been hard to transition these thoughts, since i’m a selfish girl and i have a lot to learn, especially patience. i’m just so blessed to have such loving in-laws that actually care about me and not just their son/brother.
o yea! valentines day this year was a huge surprise. we went through 3 valentines without anything but a dinner at paneras, or a homemade tiramisu (which was actually really nice) but this year, hubby went all out. it helped that his friend/co-worker is a smooth gentleman that helped out. it started out being whisked away after work with co-worker’s gf to a spa treatment. then the boys picked us up for a romantic double date to a cute restaurant where they brought out orchids during dessert. HA so cheesy but a huge step up from never going out. i guess 4th time is a charm? either way, i’m proud of the hard work the boys did. they literally bought the flowers/made reservations during our spa session. HA
dinner party tonight! i’ll be making stuffed mushrooms, homemade hummus+pita, cajun chicken pasta, and strawberry/chocolate tartlets. time to get cookin!
